The Case of Eva Johansson.

Sweden, May 2020.

The naked body of 24-year-old Eva Johansson was found on the ground floor of the house she rented.
She had been strangled with a thick electrical cord that was wrapped around twice and formed into a noose, tightly tied over a small but very thick black plastic bag that she had over her head.
Her hands were tied behind her back with a men’s leather belt, loose enough for her to twist them slightly to prevent numbness, but not loose enough for her to free herself.

Subsequent investigations revealed that Eva led an extreme sexual life—more specifically, she had a fetish for breath control through strangulation and suspension—which she practiced during sexual encounters with others, both men and women, or when she was alone.
On her laptop, she had saved many different videos in which she performed these acts in a very violent and extreme manner.

On the day she died, she had sex with a young man, and she had suggested that he fulfill her fantasies as a condition for having sex with her. Her plan was for him to tie her hands behind her back, put a plastic bag over her head and a noose made from an electrical cord—leaving it loose so she could breathe for the time being—and then begin having sex with her from behind.
And then pull hard on the cord and tie it tightly around her neck as soon as she said the word “nu” (which means “now” in Swedish).

This meant she was about to reach orgasm and wanted the extra sensation of intense strangulation for an even greater effect.
And then he was supposed to immediately loosen the noose and remove the bag as soon as she reached orgasm and/or fainted.
She had also set up a video camera to record everything. But the young man had never done anything like this before, so he was completely unprepared.
In the heat of the moment, with loud music playing, he—after she said “now”—pulled on the rope with tremendous force and accidentally killed her.

When it was over, he finally realized that Eva was completely silent and motionless. The young man panicked and decided to grab the camera and run away. But about 20 or 30 minutes after he left her house, he called the police and told them what had happened.
He probably realized that there was incriminating evidence all over the scene; moreover, people had seen them together at the café where they had agreed to meet for their sexual encounter.

The video recordings from that day, which showed her demands, along with her earlier videos in which she took her dangerous fetish to the extreme, ultimately led to the death being classified as an accident resulting from erotic asphyxiation.
