The story about the Tubutama shooting: the longest shooting between cartels ever. 

It happened on 2010 on the north of Sonora. Near the town of Tubutama, Sonora, on the middle of the desert, and just 20km away from the U.S border, it happened the major and longer clash between two cartels. On July 1st, at 7:00PM, a convoy of 50 trucks filled with heavy armored sicarios went to the desert of Tubutama. It was El Chapo's people, Gente Nueva, all their trucks were marked with X's, and they were going to settle accounts with his new rivals, La Mochomera, people from the Beltran-Leyva's cartel. When CDS people came to the place of the appointment, they were ambushed by a bigger convoy of trucks. Their rivals, La Mochomera brought some allies with them, sicarios from Los Zetas. The deadly ambush turned into an intense shooting that lasted 12 hours on the desert, from 7:00 PM to almost 8:00 AM. The local Police, crearly outgunned and outnumbered refused to intervene. The nearest military bases, hours away from the place, were ordered to stay on their bases and let the criminals kill each other. The next morning, when the autorities came, they found dozens of trucks, 21 corpses and 9 people alive, 6 of them, injured. The survivors of both cartels left the zone, taking with them a lot of the corpses of their dead comrades. The real number of casualties is still unknown, but it could be more than 60. Rumors say CDS lost that night.
