Russian FSB officers, together with the National Guard and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, identified and disrupted the activities of a sabotage and reconnaissance group composed of career officers of the Ukrainian Special Operations Service. The group was planning to commit acts of sabotage and terrorist attacks on transportation infrastructure in Russia.

The sabotage and reconnaissance group was supervised and trained with the direct participation of Western intelligence officers in Ukraine, as well as in Lithuania, Estonia, and Norway.

During the operational combat operations, three saboteurs were eliminated and three were detained.

The following were seized from the scene of the clash: US-made automatic assault rifles with suppressor devices, 16 kg of Czech-made plastic explosive and initiating devices, a large quantity of NATO-spec grenades and ammunition, and a radio station for maintaining communication with the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense. The detainees confessed to the sabotage and reconnaissance group's involvement in the September 2024 railway bombings in the Novooskolsky District of the Belgorod Region and preparations for other terrorist attacks in Russian controlled territory.
