Where after inserting the head in the noose and by pulling on it, the tape would unstick and the noose would drop and automatically close around the neck.

As he was sliding forward and down, the fan was slowly tilting down under the strain. And by this extending the reach of the belt and thus giving him some time to make his last words. But the fan was secured very solid and after tilting down a little it stopped doing it. After that you can hear his words becoming more gargled, with barely comprehensible and repeated "do not want to die, Janet, love". Resulting in his complete passing out, convulsions and death just a few moments after.
