A man was executed at a kiosk on Recreio dos Bandeirantes beach, in Rio de Janeiro's West Zone, on Sunday night (21).
Sérgio Rodrigues da Costa Silva, known as Sérgio Bomba, was said to be the head of the Sepetiba militia and was arrested in 2017.
Sérgio Bomba was with his girlfriend in a kiosk near Posto 12 when, at around 8.50pm, a man came in shooting. The militiaman died on the spot, and the woman suffered no injuries.
In 2017, Sérgio Bomba was arrested in Operation Horus. According to the investigations, the militia he commanded collected fees from residents and shopkeepers, grabbed land and cloned stolen vehicles.
Witnesses also reported that Sérgio escaped an attack on Saturday (20). The Specialized Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (Gaeco) of the Public Prosecutor's Office is investigating Sérgio's participation in the Sepetiba militia.
