Basically every state has at-will-employment laws that allows an employer to fire someone at will with few exceptions like race, orientation, jury duty, and preferences. Unionized trucking jobs would not be at risk. However, union drivers are becoming rare. Fifty percent of truckers were in a union a couple decades ago. Now, it's under twenty percent. So he could be fired if not in a union. Most trucking companies fire truckers in accidents regardless of who's at fault. They cite the belief that the driver is a liability. There's no denying the driver in the video is at fault. I understand how he could fuck that up but it's still one hundred percent on him. If companies regularly fire truckers who don't cause the accident they're in. This driver is likely fucked unless he's in a union.
