A man, aged 76, dug up his mother, who had died on Jan. 16, 2010 aged 95, and kept her mummified corpse in his house lying on a sofa under a blanket. The son lived close to the cemetery and after digging his mother up residents had noticed the disturbed grave but alarm bells were not sounded.
In March, to confirm, police exhumed the mother's grave and found it was empty. They did not disclose when the dirty deed was done but have charged the man, who is in hospital due to poor health, with defiling a corpse.
