Rio - A video is circulating on the networks of the moment a man was stabbed, on Sunday night, while resisting a robbery at the Boiúna BRT station, in Taquara, West Zone of Rio. In the images, it is possible to see the victim trying to fight against three men and then being stabbed by a fourth, who jumps the station turnstile towards the exit. Two men, aged 19 and 20, were arrested and three teenagers, two aged 17 and one aged 16, were apprehended. The identities of the suspects and the victim were not released. The crime happened around 10:30 pm, while the passenger recharges the card at the station's ticket office. At this moment, three men climb the ramp that gives access to the entrance of the BRT Boiúna and take the victim's backpack, which he tries to prevent. Soon after trying to retrieve the backpack, two other men jump through the turnstiles of the station and one of them strikes him several times with a knife. The man was taken to the Albert Schweitzer State Hospital, in Realengo, in the West Zone of Rio, where he was treated.
The agents were patrolling the transport chute when they were called, around 10:30 pm, by the BRT Operational Control Center (CCO), which caught a group invading the station and stealing passengers. Immediately, agents went to the station and found a victim who had been stabbed during the incident.
Agents received information that the group had fled to a subdivision near the station. Arriving there, they saw that some of the suspects had been detained by a group of people. The police avoided the lynching and detained the two men and the three teenagers.
Two knives used in the crime were seized, in addition to a cell phone, a ball and a charger stolen during the action. Three victims recognized the five as the perpetrators of the crime. The case was registered at the 32nd DP (Taquara) as theft.
