Victims were Shannon P. J. (42), her husband Mario A.T.E (39), and her son Jorge A.R.-J (20). All three were shot in the head.
Two of the three suspects were captured on surveillance video wearing UPS-style uniforms and one carried a cardboard box, posing as delivery drivers to gain entry. They entered the home and left seven minutes later.
The killings were reportedly connected to drug trafficking, as one of the victims was suspected of dealing narcotics and sending large amounts of money to Mexico.
Two young children (ages 2 and 4), the sons of the couple, were present in the home during the murders and witnessed at least the shooting of their mother.
Three suspects were involved in the crime: Alonzo Mingo, Demetrius Shumpert and Omari Shumpert.
Alonzo Mingo: A former seasonal UPS employee, Mingo was arrested shortly after the incident. He was found guilty of three counts of first-degree murder in September 2025 and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
UPS confirmed he had worked for the company for a short time until early January 2024.
Demetrius Shumpert: Found guilty on all counts of first-degree murder by a jury in November 2025.
He faces a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole when sentenced in January 2026.
Omari Shumpert: He was also convicted in December 2025 on multiple murder and robbery counts and is scheduled for sentencing in January 2026.
A search warrant for Friday, Jan. 26 at 4:30 p.m. about 4 hours after the shooting focuses on Mario, the husband.
Documents show there was a months-long investigation into him.
Two days before the shooting on Wednesday, Jan. 24, officers tracked his truck to a storage facility in Golden Valley, where they found drugs in a storage unit. Police also found mushrooms, marijuana, meth and white powder.
Evidence showed the couple was sending money to Mexico. There is no mention and no implication in the documents of their son, Jorge.
