The heinous crime took place in the Juan XXIII neighborhood. Apparently, the two elderly women were talking on the terrace of a house when they were surprised by a hitman who shot them dead.

Crime in the Magdalena department has reached its most brutal peak, after a hitman killed two elderly women this Saturday afternoon in Fundación, one of the municipalities hardest hit by the war waged by criminal gangs such as the Clan del Golfo and Los Primos for control of illegal activities such as micro-trafficking and extortion.

According to preliminary reports, at around 2:00 p.m., the elderly women, identified as Mabel Cantillo and Barcinilla, were talking on the terrace of a house in the Juan XXlll neighborhood when they were surprised by a man who shot them without saying a word and then fled.

Shocked by what had happened, as this time the victims of the hitman in a town at war were two elderly women, who had no criminal records and even fewer problems, neighbors proceeded to help them and take them to San Rafael Hospital, where doctors confirmed their deaths minutes later.

Members of the Magdalena Police arrived at the scene and began an investigation to find those responsible for this latest bloodbath, which has once again filled the population with fear, as no one is immune to being a victim of deadly bullets in a municipality controlled by criminal gangs.
