University students die after serious accident in Serra
Two university students aged 19 and 20 died after a serious accident on the Norte Sul Highway, near the Jardim Limoeiro neighborhood, in Serra, in the early hours of this Sunday (7), which left the car twisted. The friends were with three other people, heading towards Laranjeiras, when the vehicle crashed into the wall of a condominium. ⠀ ⠀
According to the police report, the driver of the vehicle informed the police that he was returning from a bar in Vitória when he lost control of the car. He said he tried to reduce speed on the road and the car changed direction onto the sidewalk, crashing into the wall.⠀ ⠀
He had no injuries. Two young people were rescued and taken to a hospital. The two friends, Luma Alves da Silva, aged 19, and Natiele Lima dos Santos, aged 20, were in the back seat and died instantly. One of them was thrown out of the vehicle.
In addition to the driver, Luma and Natiele, there were also two other young people inside the car, aged 21 and 25, the oldest being Luma's brother.
The two boys were injured and were rescued by Samu and also by the Fire Department, being taken to Jayme Santos Neves Hospital, in Serra.
Civil Police expertise was called and sent the bodies of the university students to the Legal Medical Department (DML), in Vitória.
The driver was taken to the 3rd Serra Regional Police Station, where he was accompanied by a lawyer. He didn't have any injuries. The Civil Police have not yet announced whether he will be detained.
Two 19-year-old university students died in an accident in the early hours of Sunday morning (7) on Avenida Norte-Sul, in the Parque Residencial Laranjeiras neighborhood of Serra. The car they were in hit the wall of a condominium.
Natiele Lima dos Santos and Luma Alves da Silva were studying Information Systems and, according to family members, had been at a party in the center of Vitória and were returning home to Serra when it happened, at around 2.40am.
They were in the back seat of a Ford Ka and three other friends were in the vehicle. The two died on the spot, according to the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu).
The 24-year-old driver of the car told the Military Police that, while returning with his friends from a bar in the center of Vitória, he lost control of the vehicle on the Norte-Sul highway, near a residential condominium, and crashed into the wall.
He claimed that when he tried to slow down in the lane he was in, he changed direction onto the sidewalk, but was unable to return to the avenue. The car was removed to the Detran yard and was a total loss.
According to the police, the driver has a valid driver's license, but refused to take a breathalyzer test. According to the police, he had an odor of alcohol on his breath.
Two infraction notices were issued against him: one for refusing to submit to a breathalyzer test, clinical examination or other procedure to certify that he was under the influence of alcohol or another psychoactive substance; and the other for having the car's left rear tire "bald", "flat".
As well as the driver, Luma and Natiele, there were two other young men in the car, aged 21 and 25, the older of whom was Luma's brother.

On Sunday morning, part of the car was still on the road. Shaken, Natiele's relatives were at the DML, but didn't want to give interviews. They just said that she and her friend were at the party and a friend had gone to pick them up.
