MERCED, Calif. Authorities have identified a teenager who was shot and killed at a Halloween party in Merced over the weekend.
The shooting happened around 11 pm Friday near Merced Avenue and Shirley Street.
Officers say a fight had broken out between at least two people at the party leading up to the shooting.
A 16-year-old and a 17-year-old boy, later identified as Renzo Arellano, were both hit by gunfire.
Investigators say Arellano died at the home from his injuries.
The 16-year-old is expected to survive.
FRESNO, Calif. A suspect has been arrested in connection to two separate shootings that killed a teen at a Halloween party and sent a convenience store clerk to the hospital in Merced.
Merced police say 21-year-old Darrion Murphy is suspected of shooting and killing 17-year-old Renzo Arellano on October 27th.
The teen was at a Halloween Party on Shirley Street near Merced Avenue when he was killed.
Officers say Murphy is also suspected of robbing and shooting a store clerk at the 7-Eleven on Gerard Avenue and Carmel Road on Tuesday, November 14.
