TRIBUNSUMSEL.COM, BALIKPAPAN - Two people died on the spot from a fatal accident at the intersection on Jalan Soekarno Hatta, Muara Rapak, North Balikpapan this morning, Friday.
This was conveyed by the Director of Traffic (Dirlantas) of the East Kalimantan Regional Police, Police Commissioner Sonny Irawan
Sonny explained that temporary data regarding victims showed that 2 people died on the spot.
Meanwhile, the rest were rushed to hospital.
Sony explained the chronology of the accident.
The accident started in the direction of Jalan Soekarno Hatta, where a container truck was suspected to have failed brakes.
"There was a container truck that we received while the information was that the brakes failed. Then the vehicle, which had stopped at a red light, ended up crashing," explained Sonny, Friday (21/1/2022), after the incident.
According to temporary data collected by the police, there were around 6 4-wheeled vehicles involved.
