At least six people were killed, and 16 others were injured in a Russian missile attack on a postal center in Ukraine's Kharkiv region, local authorities said early Sunday.

Russia "launched a missile attack from the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system at the 'Nova Poshta' terminal in the village of Korotych, Kharkiv region ... As a result of the impact, 6 people died. 16 people were injured," Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the local military administration in the Kharkiv region, said on Telegram.


Syniehubov further said that the strike took place late on Saturday at around 10:15 p.m. local time (0715GMT), adding that a fire erupted at the center.


In an earlier statement, Syniehubov stated that six people were killed, and 14 were wounded, adding that among the wounded, some were in critical condition, but all necessary medical assistance was provided.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also emphasized the need to increase pressure on Russia, underlining that the postal center was an ordinary civilian facility.

"We need to respond to Russian terror every day with our results on the front lines. It is necessary to strengthen the unity of the world in the fight against terror even more. And we do it. Russia will not be able to achieve anything through terror and murder. The end for all terrorists is the same: responsibility for what they have done," Zelenskyy said on Telegram.
