Taliban is not trying to enforce American laws or Christian laws. They are enforcing Islamic laws as from Qur'an and Hadith just like Muhammad did. They are the true Islam as per the model shown by Muhammad. They are just following Islam ways... because there are a lot of contradictions in Islam, the rule of abrogation must be followed. The rule of abrogation means you must follow the last message and cancel out the ones prior. Abrogation in Islam (Qur'an 16:101 or Qur'an 2:106) whatever verse comes after is considered the one that must be followed.

Some Muslims claim that Surah 3 advocates peace, yet because of abrogation, there are many other Muslims and Muslim extremists who rightfully chose to follow the later revelation, Surah 9. examples from the Quran:  

Quran 2:191= Slay the unbelievers wherever you find them

Quran 3:28=Muslims must not take infidels as friends Quran 3:85= Any religion other than Islam is not acceptable

Quran 5:33= Main and crucify infidels if they criticize Islam

Quran 8:12= Terrorize and behead those who believe in scriptures other than the Quran

Quran 8:60= Muslims must muster all weapons to terrorize the infidels.

Quran 8:65= The unbelievers are stupid, urge Muslims to fight them.

Quran 9:5= When opportunity arises, kill the infidels wherever you catch them.

Qur’an 9:29—Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth, from among the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

Quran 9:30= The Jews and the Christians are perverts, fight them

Quran 9:39= Muslims who don't fight against the non-muslims will be sternly punished and replaced by others

Quran 9:121= Provoking non Muslims is a good deed in the sight of God

Quran 9:123= Make war on the infidels living in your neighborhood

Qur'an 9:73= "O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and hypocrites and be unyielding to them, their abode is hell- and worst indeed is that destination "

Quran 22:19= Punish the unbelievers with garments of fire, hooked iron rods, boiling water, melt their skin and bellies

Quran 47:4= Do not hanker for peace with the infidels, behead them where you catch them.

Quran 5:51= O you who believe! Take not the Jews and Christians as Auliya (friends/protectors/helpers), they are but Auliya of each other. And if any amongst you takes them as (Auliya), then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not those people who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers and unjust).  

And these are just SOME the teachings that come from the Quran, we are forgetting about the questionable things that come from the Hadiths which make up the Foundation of Islam.

Islam is the only religion in the world that has multiple terrorist organisations and extremists, there's dozens of different terrorist groups that even fight one another yet this share the core belief of Islam... In the last 30 days, there has been 103 Islamic attacks in 21 countries, in which 583 people were killed and 823 injured, all other religions combined is 0...
