The man who died in the tragic accident of an Air Force plane near the La Base neighborhood has already been identified.
The spectacular accident of a small plane that occurred on the morning of this Wednesday, October 3, in Cali, left one person dead and another injured. The authorities indicated that the fatal victim of the accident was the pilot, while a cadet who was receiving training on the aircraft was injured.
The air accident was reported around 7:15 am when the aircraft, which was carrying out a training mission, fell on Calle 26 and Carrera 7, in a green area of the La Base neighborhood. The first images of the accident showed the plane in flames, while dozens of people gathered around.
Hours after the tragic accident, the Colombian Air Force confirmed that the pilot of the T-90 Calima FAC-2448 aircraft, who died in the unfortunate accident, was identified as Hanner David Sánchez Mora.
According to what the authorities said, the person who was injured was identified as Corporal Juan David Díaz Solano, who was a companion on the plane.
The young man was removed by paramedics and was rushed to the Los Remedios clinic.
El País learned that he was rescued with multiple injuries and at the moment his health status is critical. Díaz is a cadet of course 97 at the Marco Fidel Suárez Aviation School.
