A criminal known only as “Gordinho do Crime” died after an exchange of gunfire with an undercover police officer last Friday morning (22). He was preparing to rob a lottery store in Jardim das Imbuias, South Zone of São Paulo. According to the police , around 8 am Gordinho and his accomplices parked a truck in front of the place. They then tried to enter the establishment to capture the employees and gain access to the safe. To gain entry to the lottery, the criminals tried to force people who were in line waiting for the store to open to enter as well. However, one of them was an off-duty police officer who immediately pulled out his gun. There was an exchange of gunfire, one of the criminals shot at the police officer, but the weapon failed. The PM managed to hit Gordinho who fell while trying to get into the vehicle. According to the Military Police , the gang fled as soon as they saw Gordinho dead. The case is investigated by the 101st DP (Jardim das Imbuias) as an attempted robbery.
