Lourival de Souza Fernandes, 45, shot dead this Friday morning (28), on Avenida das Bandeiras, was convicted of murder in 2019. He also had passages for drug trafficking and irregular possession of a firearm.

The victim was murdered by a man who was lying in wait on Rua Tatuí, on the corner of the avenue, inside a Volkswagen Gol car. Footage from the security camera of a business in the region shows the vehicle arriving at the scene of the crime, reversing and stopping the car a few meters from the intersection.


The shooter gets out of the car through the driver's door and hides behind the wall. Upon seeing Lourival, the man pulls out his firearm and fires at least five shots. Even after the victim is already lying on the ground, the suspect continues shooting.

Following, the shooter enters the vehicle and flees the scene accessing the avenue. The man was wounded by three shots, two in the head and one in the chest, according to the Military Police. Rescue was triggered, but he couldn't resist the injuries and died.

The case will be investigated by the 5th Police Station. The suspect for the crime has not yet been arrested.
