Husband Murad Sheikh has beaten and tortured a housewife named Halima Begum (30) in Sirajdikhan of Munshiganj for not paying the dowry demanded by her drug addicted husband.
The incident took place at Kazirbagh village in Malkhanagar union of Sirajdikhan upazila around 10am on Sunday (August 1).
Locals arrested Murad (45) and handed him over to Sirajdikhan police.
Halima Begum, a seriously injured housewife, was rescued and admitted to the Upazila Health Complex.
Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sirajdikhan Police Station Mohammad Borhan Uddin said housewife Halima was secretly videotaped and released on social media by the people of the house next door. The video immediately went viral on social media Facebook.
