Video tape released in Germany on Friday (23/01) by an Iranian opposition group shows a man being publicly whipped and two others stoned to death. At a press conference in Bonn, the National Iranian Resistance group said the video was smuggled out of Iran by members of the People's Mujahadeen, another resistance organisaton. They said the public flogging and executions were carried out in a military compound in the northern suburbs of Tehran in 1992. It's claimed that the man who was flogged had been sentenced for stealing and cheating on his wife. The crimes of the other two were unknown. They died horrific deaths. Surrounded by a jeering crowd, they were wrapped in sheets and buried up to their waists before being stoned by the crowd.
