Police have also released a graphic 45-second video of the June 24 incident. It appears to show the man advancing on officers with an object in his hand before being shot and collapsing to the ground. Police said they recovered what appeared to be a sharpened screwdriver at the scene. The video contradicts rumors that police shot him in the back.

The incident took place at a Motel 6 along a MAX line. The video was shot by someone at the motel.
