Singaraja, canalbali.com - A foreign citizen (WNA) from the United States named Donnel Jack Sullivan (22) suffered a broken leg due to falling from a cliff at Aling-aling Waterfall in Sambangan Village, Sukasada District, Buleleng.

Sukasada Police Chief Kompol Made Agus Dwi Wirawan said the tourists were desperate to climb the cliffs around the Aling-aling waterfall on Wednesday (02/11) afternoon. He did not even use the services of a tour guide. As a result, he was hit by a rock and broke his leg.
"The victim left alone through the Ambengan Village, Sukasada District, Wednesday at around 11.30 WITA. He arrived at the tourist attraction at around 12.15 WITA, and was desperate to climb a cliff near a waterfall," he said, Thursday (11/03).
Jack was warned not to dare to climb the cliff by other foreign tourists who were also at the scene.
"There was a foreign tourist who was also at the scene, from France named Rigaud Alixis Louis Yves (40) he warned the victim not to climb the cliff because it looked dangerous," he explained.

However, the victim did not heed his warning and continued to climb the cliff as high as about 5 meters. As soon as he reached the top of the cliff, he slipped and fell. He fell along with a large boulder.
The stone fell down and hit his right calf so that the calf of his leg was severed. The victim screamed for help, lucky witness Rigaud Alixis Louis Yves saw the incident and immediately helped the victim.
The screams were also heard by a tour guide from a tourism awareness group (Pokdarwis) from Sambangan Village who immediately approached the victim to provide help. They immediately tied the victim's feet with towels to reduce the bleeding and took the victim to the Balimed Singaraja Hospital for medical attention.
"The victim is currently still undergoing treatment and can be invited to communicate even a little and can answer when asked and say he is from America," said Police Commissioner Dwi Wirawan.

For this incident, his party asked the tourism managers in the villages of Ambengan and Sambahan to add a warning information board so that this kind of incident does not happen again.
"We encourage tourism-aware groups in Ambengan Village and Sambangan Village to add hazard warning boards or banners and recommend that tourists invite guides when visiting so as to minimize disasters that occur like the current incident," he said. ( Kanalbali/WIB)
