Lying on the road, surrounded by a pool of blood, was a police officer after being shot in the head. The agent was traveling in a patrol car together with another uniformed officer when the vehicle was intercepted by another car, in which four antisocials were traveling.

The incident occurred at the foot of a service station in the Jujan canton, Guayas province. According to a preliminary report, the attackers used long and short weapons.

The police officer wounded in the head was in critical condition and is receiving care at the Babahoyo hospital. Meanwhile, his partner managed to respond to the attack, but also received projectile impacts at arm and forearm level.

During the violent act, the perpetrators stole a weapon from one of the uniformed men.

At the site of the attack, seven 7.52-caliber ballistic evidence and 27 evidence corresponding to a 9-millimeter weapon were found.

The antisocials fled to the Babahoyo canton, Los Ríos province. The Police investigate this violent act to determine the motivation for the attack on the uniformed men.
