A worker was seriously injured after falling from the 14th floor of a building under 

construction in Itapema, North Coast of Santa Catarina. He had fractures in his legs and, 

with the impact of the fall, he had one of his feet torn off, but he was attended by 

firefighters and was conscious and oriented. The accident happened on Tuesday (2).

The building is in the Meia Praia neighborhood, on 254th street. The worker was on the 

14th floor balcony working with plaster application, when he fell. He crashed through 

two work protection trays, breaking the marine plywood, and landed on the rear window 

of a car that was parked on the street.

According to the Military Fire Department, which attended the accident, 

the man was conscious and oriented, but very agitated, with traumatic brain injury, 

bleeding in the face, suspected fracture in one of the legs. One of the victim's 

feet was also torn off by the impact of the fall.



The victim was taken by firefighters to Santo Antônio Hospital, in Itapema.
