Security camera footage captured the events of an incident that resulted in the death of a 22-year-old man, identified as Lucas Silva, following a collision between a motorcycle and a Military Police vehicle in Vitória de Santo Antão, in the Zona da Mata region of Pernambuco.

According to the Military Police, a team from the 21st Military Police Battalion was on patrol when they spotted irregularities with the motorcycle. Police stated that they ordered the motorcyclist to stop, but he allegedly disobeyed and fled after turning around.

Police reported that, during the pursuit, the rider allegedly drove unsafely and subsequently lost control of the motorcycle, crashing to the ground.

However, new footage shows the moment of impact between the patrol car and the motorcycle. The recordings have circulated on social media, raising questions about the circumstances of the incident. Family and friends of the young man dispute the Military Police's account, claiming that the patrol car intentionally caused the crash.

Following the accident, Lucas was rescued by firefighters and taken to João Murilo de Oliveira Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he did not survive his injuries.

The young man's death sparked outrage among residents and his family. Protests took place in the area, and sections of the BR-232 highway were blocked. Competent authorities will investigate the case and analyze the footage and other evidence to clarify the circumstances of the accident.
