A serious traffic accident left carpenter José José Reyes Velásquez, 38, a resident of Cereté in the department of Córdoba, Colombia, in critical condition. The incident occurred last Wednesday afternoon (2) in the El Quemado area, on the highway connecting Cereté to Retiro de los Indios.

Reyes Velásquez was riding a motorcycle when he crashed violently into the rear of a pickup truck. The initial suspicion is that the vehicle was parked or stopped on the highway at the time of the impact.

Due to the force of the impact, the carpenter suffered serious injuries to his face and jaw. He was rescued and rushed to San Diego Hospital in Cereté. Given the severity of his condition, doctors decided to transfer him to an intensive care unit in Montería, where he remains hospitalized.
