"I didn't find the courage to kill my father," the boy wrote. "I've come to the conclusion that I can't live this life anymore. A life filled with injustice, disrespect, and banality. I'm tired of it all, so I've decided the perfect solution is to take matters into my own hands. I'm going to kill my French teacher. The choice isn't random, it's deliberate. She enjoys targeting me, humiliating me in front of everyone, making mean comments, making tasteless jokes, and justifying violence against me even when I'm clearly the victim." He continued: "When a frail boy punched me, I didn't react. The teachers didn't even notice. I had to go to them and explain what happened, and this shows how the school is failing. When my French teacher had the audacity to say I deserved it, the principal did nothing. She went unpunished for such a serious crime." Elsewhere, he writes: "Since the 'kids' apparently don't understand what's right and wrong, I'll use this to my advantage: I can't be jailed, since the minimum age for criminal responsibility in Italy is 14, and I can't even stand trial, so I'll do what I've always wanted to do: kill her and anyone who tries to stop me." He also talks about his ADHD diagnosis: "When I took a behavior test, my teacher gave me a low score for distractibility and didn't hesitate to point it out in class, and this infuriates me. It feels like sabotage. She's chaining me to this life of suffering just because she doesn't like me. Being only 13, I'm completely powerless in this situation and there's little I can do to change the path that's been chosen for me. My life is dictated by adults who don't care about me; my French teacher wants nothing more than to fill my life with pain and suffering by abusing her power. She's so powerless in her own life that she's decided that taking out her anger on a group of middle schoolers is a great way to relax." Then a comment on the clothes: "The military uniform is not a random choice. I chose it because I see myself as a soldier fighting for my rights, rights that have been trampled upon. I also feel superior to all my peers. Yes, sometimes they are funny, but I feel much smarter than them, and wearing a uniform demonstrates my superiority over all these mere mortals. I am no longer one of them, I am someone better, someone who had the strength to do what many have not, someone who has the intelligence to understand that no one truly stands up for us and our needs. I am unique and I am not a copy of any previous school attack. I want to be recognized for going against the grain: I want to bring something new. Revenge is not a word chosen at random. It represents what I feel: I am taking the sweet revenge I deserve by killing the people who have hurt me." And finally, he writes: "I don't have many friends because most people think I'm weird or unbearable. I like socializing, but at the same time I hate going out. Seeing people laughing in groups makes me furious: they're all a bunch of stupid, banal people, all the same, as if they were copied and pasted from a boring project. You have to find meaning in your life, and the meaning of my life is to indulge all my fantasies, ignoring others and experiencing the thrill of breaking the rules, which is the greatest pleasure in my life."
