A video clip that has gone viral on social media has sparked outrage among the public in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The footage allegedly shows a doctor mistreating a patient during a medical procedure at the Kinkole General Referral Hospital, located in the Nsele commune.

According to several accounts circulating online, the doctor, identified as David Balanganayi, allegedly subjected a young woman in clinical distress to physical, verbal, and psychological abuse before performing a dilation and curettage (D&C) without apparent anesthesia. The patient had reportedly previously suffered a miscarriage.

In the widely shared video, an individual presented as a doctor is seen behaving in a manner deemed brutal toward the patient, in an environment that some internet users describe as unsanitary and lacking adequate medical equipment. The authenticity of the images and the exact context of the events have not yet been officially confirmed by the relevant authorities.

According to sources close to the case, the doctor in question claims it was a medical emergency. He says he acted in the absence of an anesthesiologist and after his colleagues withdrew or became unavailable, stating that he tried to "save a life" under difficult conditions.

The release of this video sparked outrage on social media, where many users denounced a serious violation of medical ethics and professional conduct. Several voices called for exemplary sanctions against the practitioner and any other individuals responsible.

Some called on the Ministry of Public Health to suspend the doctor in question and initiate disciplinary proceedings, while others requested a judicial investigation.

One internet user, quoted among many reactions, expressed his indignation in these terms:

"What we are seeing is inhumane, revolting, and totally unacceptable. No context can excuse such barbarity in a place meant to protect life and human dignity."

At this stage, no detailed official statement has yet been released by health or judicial authorities regarding this case. The Kinkole General Referral Hospital has also not issued a public statement.
