Description
Piura, Peru, August 30, 2025. Karen Hidalgo Rojas, a 32-year-old Ecuadorian woman, was found dead at the nightclub "La Colmena," located on the road between Piura and Sullana. Her body was discovered by the club's security guard after her driver reported that she was not answering her phone and had not arrived at the agreed meeting place.
Karen was found inside a bucket of water, with her head submerged and her limbs outside. Bloodstains and bruises were observed on her neck and right arm, suggesting that she may have struggled. The autopsy revealed that she had died from drowning.
Police are investigating the case as a possible homicide. Her ten-year-old daughter was locked in the apartment and has been taken into custody by the authorities. According to reports, the main suspect is Karen's partner, also from Ecuador.
