The drug guy was a piece of shit, good that they killed him, one less to worry about. However, too many "rookie" mistakes from the cop, the red flags were all there. Inexcusable for someone with 5 years on the force.

Video from state trooper Darrian Jarrott's patrol car dash cam shows the state trooper approaching a Chevy pickup truck on Interstate-10 on Feb. 4 and questioning the driver, who had been pulled over for having tinted windows that were too dark.
During a peaceful exchange lasting several minutes, the driver identifies himself as Omar Felix Cueva and admits to having a firearm in the vehicle, according to news reports. Cueva exits the van with an AR-15 rifle in hand and opens fire.
Cueva, 39, fled, leaving Jarrott on the side of the road and led New Mexico police on a 40-mile high-speed chase before being killed in a shootout with police.
According to state police, Cueva had "a violent criminal history" and was on his way to a drug deal when he was stopped by Jarrott, a five-year veteran on the force
"Even in tough situations, the guy was always smiling," New Mexico State Police Chief Robert Thornton said of Jarrott after his death.
Another state trooper was injured and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
