Rehana, a member of the Women's Defense Unit, was reportedly beheaded by ISIS after a journalist tweeted a photo of her posing with a victory sign, the British newspaper Daily Mail reported.
In the same tweet, the journalist claimed that Rehana, the nom de guerre she adopted in the tradition of Kurdish female fighters, had already killed 100 militants fighting with ISIS.
As the tweet was retweeted more than 5,000 times, Rehana became the image of the Kurdish resistance in Kobane.
