During a family vacation in Bai Chay Ward, Ha Long City, Vietnam, a devastating tragedy unfolded, claiming the lives of two young sisters.
On June 3, 2024 a family of four from Cam Pha City rented a villa in Bai Chay. While the parents were not supervising, the two children, aged 4 and 7, were left alone playing in the swimming pool, where they tragically drowned.
When the family discovered the heartbreaking situation rushed the girls to Bai Chay Hospital for emergency treatment. Due to the severity of their condition, they were then transferred to Quang Ninh Pediatrics Hospital for further care.
Despite the tireless efforts of the medical teams, the 4-year-old sister could not be saved. She succumbed to irreversible brain damage and multiple organ failure, and her family took her back to Cam Pha City for the funeral.
The 7-year-old girl fought for her life in the Intensive Care Unit, where she was treated with blood filtration and mechanical ventilation after suffering from circulatory asphyxiation and respiratory arrest. Tragically, she too passed away.
This heartbreaking incident serves as a harsh reminder of the critical importance of water safety. Our deepest condolences go out to the grieving family.
