Description
A Singapore-flagged cargo ship collided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, United States, causing it to collapse.
• At 1:28 am. ET, a large container ship crashed into the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore.
• Much of the bridge collapsed immediately, throwing several vehicles, including a group of construction workers, into the water.
• Rescuers believe at least 7 construction workers were on the bridge, but say the number could be as high as 20.
• The container ship, the Dali, flying the Singapore flag, left Baltimore for Sri Lanka. The ship sustained significant damage, including a possible breach in the hull.
• The cause of the collision was not immediately clear. The boat appeared to lose power in the minutes before the accident.
