CEBU, Philippines — A motorist was killed after he collided with a Toyota Vios vehicle while traveling on H. Mall Road, Barangay Pajac, Lapu-Lapu City yesterday morning.
Police Chief Master Sergeant Rhymond Sosmena, investigator of the Traffic Enforcement Unit of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LCPO) identified the deceased as Roger Cavan Valiente, Jr., 30-years-old, married, from Sitio Abuno, Barangay Pajac, City. in Lapu-Lapu.
Sosmena said that another car overtook the victim and it ran into a Toyota Vios driven by Norhan Inrahim Manongiring, 24 years old, from Sitio Matumbo, Barangay Pusok in that city.
Due to the force of the impact of the collision, the victim fell to the road and sustained serious injuries.
The victim was quickly taken to the Mactan Doctors Hospital in Barangay Basak in that city but it was declared by Dr. Sonny Alorvida was dead when he arrived at the hospital.
Sosmena added that Manongiring is currently in their custody.
