Liquor Trader Sleeping In Parking Lot of Haryana Dhaba Shot Dead by Unidentified Gunmen
A 38-year-old liquor trader, who was sleeping inside his SUV parked in the parking lot of a Dhaba, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Haryana on Sunday morning. The incident was reported from Gulshan Dhaba in Haryana’s Murthal at 8:30 am.
According to an NDTV report, the deceased was identified as Sunder Malik, a liquor trader hailing from Saragthal village in Gohana. Malik was sleeping in his SUV when he was dragged out of his car and shot dead.
A CCTV footage of the incident showed Sunder Malik, dressed in an orange hoodie and trousers stumbling out of his SUV as two attackers continued to chase and fire at him. In an effort to take down one of the attackers, Malik lunges and pulls down one of them on the ground while another shooter continues to shoot at him.
The video further shows that the attacker frees himself from Malik’s grip and the other shooter continues to fire bullets until he cannot fight back anymore.
The Dhaba owner informed the police of the incident. Police noted that 25 rounds were fired and added that 8 teams have been formed and are searching for the accused.
“The police had received information on the phone and when the police reached the spot, it found around 30 to 35 rounds were fired,” a police officer Gaurav Rajpurohit was quoted by NDTV as saying.
Police said that further action would be taken on the basis of statements of the family members. An investigation into the case is underway.
The incident comes just weeks after Haryana Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) chief Nafe Singh Rathee and a party worker were killed by unidentified assailants who fired several rounds of bullets at their SUV in Bahadurgarh near Delhi last month.
Earlier this week, police said two suspected shooters were arrested from Goa in the Rathee murder case.
