A man died after a shooting that occurred this morning in front of the courthouse in Limón.

The version that is being handled is that the man was shot by some subjects who were traveling on a motorcycle.

According to Ronald Álvarez, press officer of the Ministry of Public Security, it seems that the man was on his way to a trial.

After the shooting, agents of the Judicial Investigation Organism (OIJ) and officers of the Public Force took control of the site.

The OIJ is expected to remove the body of the man who lost his life after the shooting and transfer it to the Judicial Morgue.

The authorities will investigate the causes of the homicide, as well as locate the whereabouts of the subjects.

Precisely, this Monday a trial began in the province of Limón for a massacre that occurred in 2022 in Matama de Limón.

The events occurred in March of that year, in a lonely street that passes inside the farm known as Los Pinto, in Aguas Zarcas de La Bomba de Matama, on the road to Bananito.

Six men were traveling in a car when they were ambushed by several men who forced them to get out and shot them in the head. The six bodies were left around the car.

The seventh deceased was found several kilometers from the farm, a worker who was building cabins in the area and who had nothing to do with the case.
