A terrible discovery shook the residents of the São Marcos neighborhood, in Cataguases, on Friday morning (January 12). The decapitated body of a man preliminarily identified as Reginaldo da Silva, aged 48, was found in a park.
According to information from the Military Police, the victim's head was cruelly placed in the children's playground, where children usually play, while the body was located in a forest close to the neighborhood.
Reginaldo already had a police record for a sexual crime and had recently moved to the neighborhood.
At the time of writing this article, the incident remained open, with police authorities intensifying efforts to clarify the details and motivation behind this heinous act. Police stressed that they are conducting a thorough investigation and hope to provide additional information soon.
This was the first homicide of the year in Cataguases.
