The owner of a gym was shot dead on Wednesday night (25) inside the establishment. Images from local video surveillance cameras captured the shooter's arrival and the attack. Owner died instantly.

According to the Military Brigade, the crime occurred around 10pm, on Avenida Getúlio Vargas, Bela Vista neighborhood. The video surveillance system captured when the armed man entered the establishment. The criminal – who was wearing a hooded jacket and a red-brimmed cap – went to the reception, where he opened fire on the gym owner.

The first shot occurs when the owner was standing behind the counter. Soon after, the shooter fires at least six to eight more shots at the victim, who was already lying on the ground. Afterwards, the criminal runs away, while customers try to hide for fear of becoming victims. The gunman has not yet been identified.

A student at the academy was injured. She was treated and taken to a hospital for medical care. Police, however, did not say whether she was shot or injured while trying to avoid being shot.

The case was registered at the DPPA (Emergency Police Station) in Alvorada. However, the homicide must be forwarded to the municipal Homicide Police Station for further investigations.

At the scene of the crime, the police collected a computer and a cell phone from the victim for examination. Equipment can be crucial for identifying whether the gym owner was being threatened or had enemies.
