Three construction workers were killed after a tower crane collapsed at an apartment building construction site in South Korea on October 14, 2021.
The accident occurred at a new apartment building site in Jinjeop, Gyeonggi Province, around 1:00 p.m. local time. Three workers were lifting a structural component with a tower crane when it collapsed, sending them plummeting to the ground.
One worker, identified as A, was killed instantly. Another worker, identified as B, was found unconscious and without a pulse. A third worker, whose identity has not been released, was found hanging from a rope, unconscious but breathing.
Rescue workers arrived on the scene and spent about an hour working to free the third worker. The worker was taken to the hospital but died from their injuries.
