There is commotion in the Mocache canton, province of Los Ríos, due to the murder of Julián Sevillano, 39 years old. He had identified himself as the leader of the band Los Fatales, aligned with Los Choneros, and this was recorded in videos that went viral on social networks.

At 10:00 this Wednesday, September 13, antisocials perpetrated the crime when Julián, el Fatal (as he called himself), was outside a car washing machine located on the Mocache-Jauneche road.

According to witnesses, men armed with rifles shot Sevillano and his daughter, a minor of approximately 14 years old, and his bodyguard. Recently the Police confirmed that the minor also died.

“It seems that they had followed his movements, Julián always came to wash the car in the mornings, his enemies took advantage of that,” said a resident of Mocache who preferred not to give his name.

Other people indicated that the murderers were traveling by motorcycle, but they had arrived on foot so as not to “raise suspicion.”

Agents from the Violent Deaths Unit arrived at the scene of the crime, but the relatives of the deceased did not allow the body to be transferred to the morgue and took it away by their own means.

The uniformed officers seized the ballistic evidence and went on alert carrying out controls in different sectors of Mocache due to the rumor of possible violent events that could be generated by the crime in Sevillano.

From Sevillano in November 2022, a video circulated where at least ten armed men wearing hoods claimed to be from the Los Fatales group.

The subjects told the Mocacheños: “We tell them that if they call you asking for collaboration and saying that they are from Mr. Julián Sevillano, contact us, we are here to support the people (…) we are not asking for vaccines (…) Los Fatales united” .

Sevillano's image went viral months later with another video he recorded. There he said that unknown people were taking his name to extort or collect 'vaccinations' from the Mocache merchants.
