Description
Mumbai: An altercation that got physical turned fatal after the man who was slapped on Sion railway station platform lost his live as he got run over by a local train. The man lost balance and fell on the track after the accused slapped him close to the edge of the railway station. The incident took place on Sunday (August 13). The accused husband and wife who got into an altercation with the man which lead to the fight and the eventual death of the victim have been arrested by Dadar Government Reserve Police (GRP) Crime Branch on charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
According to information provided by GRP police, Sheetal Mane (30) and her husband Avinash (35) arrived at Sion station around 9:15 pm on Sunday night, intending to travel to Mankhurd. While on Sion platform number one, an altercation occurred in which Sheetal was pushed by an individual. This incident enraged Sheetal, prompting her to retaliate by striking the person with her umbrella.
As Sheetal was engaging in the altercation, her husband Avinash noticed someone arguing with her. In response, Avinash delivered a forceful blow to the person, causing the person to fall onto the railway track.
The man tried to get up and climb up back on the platform quickly as a running local train was approaching. The man tried his best but couldn't get back on to the platform as the train reached him. He got stuck between the train and the platform gap and got twisted and rolled before finally getting crushed under the train.
