(Johor Bahru, 7th) A 3-year-old boy was playing with a scooter in a residential area, but a truck was suspected of speeding and ran over the boy, causing him to die on the spot.
It is reported that the car accident happened at around 6:30 pm last Friday (4th) in a residential area near Eco Spring in Johor Bahru.
According to the closed-circuit television footage sent by a Chinese man in the Facebook group "JB TRACER II", it can be seen that the boy was playing with a scooter outside the house alone and walked to the road near the entrance of the street.
Then a black Toyota Hilux truck swerved into the street and crashed into the boy.
The footage showed that before the accident, the boy seemed to be trying to dodge, but was still knocked to the ground.
After the accident, the 32-year-old male driver involved stopped immediately and got out of the car to check the boy's injuries. At the same time, the nearby people also went out to check the situation after hearing the noise.
In addition, a picture circulated on the Internet, a person who claimed to be the father of the boy informed the boy of his death in a WhatsApp group.
He also urged anyone with information related to the crash to contact him.
Johor Bahru South Police District Director Rabu Assistant Superintendent pointed out that the police will invoke Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 (dangerous driving causing death) to investigate.
