TLAXCALA, Tlax., July 16, 2023.- A man who was riding his bicycle was hit by the train in the Barrio de El Carmen in the municipality of Papalotla. After the impact, he was knocked unconscious on the ground for which he was transferred to a hospital. 

According to the neighbors, the train locomotive was stopped on the tracks and began to advance without prior notice, which caused the accident when the man was riding his bicycle and fell to the ground after the blow.

The first reports indicated that the man did not suffer major damage, however, he was lying on the ground without moving but with vital signs, for which he was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital. 

The accident was witnessed by a large number of residents, since in the central part of the El Carmen neighborhood, this Sunday celebrates its patronal festival, for which there were moments of tension in which the residents who threatened to go down to the driver and take reprisals for this act, as they pointed out that he acted irresponsibly and could have caused a greater tragedy.

According to the witnesses, the part of the head of the train had been stopped for a long time and without further ado began to advance while crossing a group of people, the cyclist who was run over was the last of that group, due to the low speed he had the locomotive the incident was not major.

After the impact, the man remained lying face down waiting to be checked, while the remains of his bicycle were observed next to the train track.
