A man stabbed several people who were in the Praça da Matriz de Guareí (SP) , this Saturday afternoon (1). He was killed by police after the attack.
According to the Military Police, the attacker approached a man who was at the bus stop in the square and asked for a cigarette. Upon saying that he didn't have it, the author lost control and threatened him with a knife.
A taxi driver, who is a retired Municipal Guard, witnessed the threat and tried to calm the fight, but he was stabbed by the aggressor and died at the scene.
As he fled, he stabbed another man and a woman who were on the street. Afterwards, he invaded a trade and injured three more victims.

Still according to the PM, witnesses asked for help for a military policeman who was off duty and close to the square. In an attempt to contain the aggressor, the PM shot and the man died.
Five people were injured in the attack. Two of them suffered serious injuries and were taken to Hospital Léo Orsi Bernardes (HLOB) in Itapetininga , where they are expected to undergo surgery.
The case must be presented at the Itapetininga police station. Civil Police are investigating the motives for the attack.
