Activists circulated on social media, a video clip showing gunmen in military uniform belonging to the "transitional" militia killing a merchant in cold blood inside his shop.
Activists said that gunmen from the "Transitional Council" militia attacked a shop in Sheikh Othman district in Aden governorate, and killed the owner of the shop, Ahmed Al-Sarmi, before carrying out a massive looting of the shop.
In the context, Mudarm Abu Siraj, head of the Political Bureau of the Revolutionary Movement Council, confirmed in a post on the Facebook platform that the STC lost control of its affiliated militias, indicating that these militias with multiple names spread corruption and killed merchants openly during the day in Aden.
Siraj added, “Killing has become free in Aden.”
He continued, saying: "Under the name of the southern security forces and their military uniforms, and through the armament provided to them by the Saudi-Emirati coalition, the transitional militias are carrying out the most heinous crimes against the people of Aden."
Siraj also stressed that "the coalition is a primary partner in everything that is happening in Aden, and their responsibility before us is great and no less heinous than what those forces are committing."
The city of Aden has recently witnessed an escalation in the killing of merchants and the looting of their shops, the latest of which was the armed storming of the “Security Belt” militia affiliated with the “Transitional Council” on February 2, the “Banafa” commercial center in the Al-Buraiqa district, and the merchant Ibrahim Abdo was shot .
