Gunasekaran hails from Panangattu Colony of Nittamalai Setti Chavadi near Cuddalore. He has been working as an employee at a vehicle maintenance station near the government hospital. He had gone to sea with his wife Bhavani and child Gautham a few months back. They were bathing at Cuddalore's Silver Beach when the child and wife were washed away in front of them. After that, while only Bhavani's body was recovered, Gunasekaran, who was suffering from mental health since that day, did not go to work.

While the child is currently being looked after by his grandparents, Gunasekaran attempted suicide in a private bus on the morning of the 7th at Cuddalore Chavadi bus stand. At the time of departure of the bus, he tried to commit suicide by putting his head under the tire, when the driver saw it, the driver immediately stopped the bus and beat up the driver Gunasekaran.

Gunasekaran returned to the same bus stop later that evening and suddenly fell down and put his head under the tire just as another private bus was about to depart. Gunasekaran died at the same spot with his head blown off, and these two sensational CCTV footages are now out. The Cuddalore Pudunagar police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
