A man suspected of robbery was arrested this Friday afternoon (13), by the Tactical Force of the 5th Military Police Battalion. The action took place a few hours after the Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP) disclosed the identity of the person being investigated for the crime that occurred on December 17th on the main avenue of Mutirão, located in the João Alves complex, in Nossa Senhora do Socorro, in Grande Aracaju.

This Friday (13) morning, the DHPP revealed the suspect's name - Wilton Mota dos Santos - and shared a photo of him to seek complaints about his whereabouts.
According to police information, Wilton was captured hours later, during the afternoon, when he denied committing the crime, stating that he did not commit robbery, but that he would have acted in self-defense, after being attacked by the victim. His version does not, however, correspond to the images of the crime taken by the Civil Police.

According to Civil Police investigations, the victim was traveling on a bicycle when she was approached by two men. With violence, the duo took the fanny pack that contained their belongings and one of the men shot the victim twice, who died at the scene. One of them would be Wilton Mota dos Santos.

The Civil Police requests that information about the suspect's location be passed on to the police through the Dial-Denunciation, on telephone 181. The whistleblower's secrecy is guaranteed.
