An Italian businessman was shot dead yesterday at Praia do Frances, in Marechal Deodoro (AL). Fabio Campagnola, 52, owned an ice cream parlor and had an argument with the shooter because he did not authorize him to set up a churro cart in front of the establishment.

According to the program “Bom Dia Alagoas”, on TV Gazeta, a Globo affiliate in the region, the crime was committed by a reserve military policeman. The shooter’s wife would have tried to put the cart in front of the ice cream parlor and was stopped by Fábio. Afterwards, the policeman, whose identity was not disclosed, was reportedly seen shooting at the Italian.

“The lady intended to install a churros cart at the door of the victim’s commercial establishment, but the owner of the building intervened, saying that that was a private place. So, she decided to call her husband. When the owner of the building left, he shot against the boy’s leg. The victim still took a few steps and fell. Taking advantage of the victim’s inertia, the author arrived and fired another shot, which, of course, was the fatal one”, said police chief Liana Franca, in an interview to the broadcaster.

The man is considered a fugitive. On social media, images circulate of the perpetrator holding a gun in Fabio’s establishment.

The investigated wife ended up autuated in the act and detained. Her lawyer, Arthur Rodrigues, informed TV that she did not participate in the crime and that she has not had contact with her husband since the episode. “It is not possible to measure any kind of participation of her in the authorship of the fact”, he defended.

To the Italian press, Cinzia Campagnola, the victim’s sister, confirmed the dynamics of the facts and said that her brother spoke with the perpetrators “calmly”.

“Fabio calmly explained to him that he couldn’t. At the time, he got angry and shot him twice: first in the leg and once on the ground, the final blow,” she said. Born in the province of Alessandria, gray he also informed that “rescuers tried to revive him, without success”.
