At the police station, the perpetrator was identified as Phan Thanh Hoang. According to Hoang's initial testimony, he and Ms. B have known each other through social networks since 2019. At that time, Ms. B was studying in high school in Yen Son district, Tuyen Quang, near Hoang's house. By 2020, Ms. B finished high school, so Hoang invited her to Bac Ninh to work as a worker. In Bac Ninh, Hoang and Ms. B rented a house together in Phuong Lieu commune, Que Vo district.

Some time later, Hoang and Ms. B quit their jobs to return to Tuyen Quang. In March 2020, both of them went to Yen Phong industrial park to work as workers and in May 2022, they quit, then went to work to recruit labor. At this time, there were many conflicts between Ms. B and Hoang.

B, said that this clip was of sister B, and threatened B that she would post the clip online. Seeing that, Ms. B was afraid to contact Mr. Duy anymore.

The culmination of the conflict stemmed from the fact that Hoang borrowed VND 1 million from Ms. B to pay for the phone and promised to pay by mid-October. Because there was no money to pay, Hoang and Ms. B continued to argue. On October 20, Hoang knew that Ms. B had returned to her hometown, so she texted and argued again, and Ms. B demanded money from Hoang. Hoang bitterly posted the clip online, causing Ms. B to be misunderstood by everyone as the girl in the clip, so the two sides insulted each other.

Thinking that Ms. B insulted her family, Hoang became angry and planned to kill her ex-girlfriend. Accordingly, around 10:00 am on October 24, Hoang took a bus to Bac Ninh city, then took a motorbike taxi to Nguyen Gia Thieu street. Because she did not know the address of Ms. B's work, Hoang walked along the street to find her, and discovered that Ms. B was working at Vu Huyen's shop.

“At that time, around 13:30 on October 24, after knowing B's place of work, I went to eat grilled duck, then went to buy a knife and rented a motel to stay. In the afternoon, I went to eat again, smoked, wrote a farewell status to post on facebook. At that time, the shop was crowded, so I didn't go in but waited.
