A Chinese streamer died while broadcasting live. The incident happened in 2017.
The ill-fated (unnamed) female streamer, who was not well known, decided to participate in a game called "Wheel of Fortune". In 2017, this game was a popular form of livestream. On the wheel, there were challenges that the streamer had to perform. If the audience wanted the streamer to perform a certain challenge, they must donate money to the streamer.
According to Chinese media, when the livestream started, the female streamer danced to the background music. Many viewers left comments praising her figure and lovely face. The streamer also smiled and interacted with netizens.
She then started playing the Wheel of Fortune and the box selected was "Wine". Up to this point, the female streamer is still very happy to joke with the audience: "Drink a hundred glasses of white wine, want me to die or something".
Despite that, she still accepted this challenge to get a donation amount of 85,000 yuan (about 302 million VND at the current exchange rate). She did not hesitate to pour 2 bottles of white wine into a glass bowl, then add eggs and mustard.
However, the process of drinking all the alcohol mixture was very difficult, the female streamer had to stop many times. After the first sip, the female streamer struggled to stop but told the audience: "No need to comment anymore, just continue to donate". After saying that, she continued to drink the mixture of alcohol on the table.
Finally, when she had not finished drinking 2 liters of alcohol, she gave up. Through the livestream screen, it can be seen that the female streamer is foaming at the mouth and staggering. The streamer tried to get up but couldn't, she fell to the floor.
Realizing that there was something wrong, the viewers immediately called the police for help with the hope to save the streamer. Unfortunately, she later died in the hospital. After an investigation, the police reported that the victim took the antibiotic Cephalosporin before the live stream. When combined with alcohol, the drug's side effects can lead to serious symptoms including death.
